FORMULA LOCOST

In 1997 whilst working at the Jedi Racing Cars factory in Wellingborough I took on a side project to learn welding and fabrication techniques. At the time a book by Ron Champion had become popular. This book was a manual fro the manufacture of a Lotus 7 based sports car which could be built for £250 and then raced. A racing formula had been started and so with the support or Jedi Racing we fabricated two chassis to see if we could support this race series in a manufacture capacity.

Jedi Racing afforded us the opportunity to learn welding techniques from the chief fabricator of Williams Formula One team and Mallock Racing cars who prepared cars for Vauxhall's British Touring Car Championship team. The two chassis built went on to compete in the championship successfully.
